Planning of emergency and fire safety management systems

Over the years we have gained considerable experience in emergency planning by drawing up specific emergency and fire safety management plans through the development of Fire Safety Management Systems for any type of business, including small and medium-sized companies, multinationals of the industrial, commercial and services sector, health and sports facilities, schools, etc.

Company Emergency Plans

Thanks to an important experience on a national and international level we have developed a methodology for planning and management of all types of emergencies in accordance with the most advanced international standards and guidelines.
Based on these standards we provide the following services:

  • Drafting of emergency plans capable of outlining the best strategies for mitigation of risks and the most effective communication and response procedures to various types of risk;
  • Development of complex business emergency plans for large companies and multinationals aimed at the safety of people and business continuity.

Safety Management System - SGA

Still on the safety topic our technicians are expected to process a Fire Safety Management System (FSMS) in order to identify and manage, within the organizational business structure, responsibilities, procedures, processes, resources and checks to ensure that, in compliance with the rules and safety regulations, the following aspects are operated and maintained over time:

  • Risk conditions and parameters set out in the fire safety design;
  • Maintenance of limitations and conditions of use of the structure as well as fire prevention and protection measures;
  • Management of any changes.

FIRE SAFETY MANAGEMENT OF THE OPERATIONAL BUSINESS for the maintenance over time of the initial fire safety levels specified in the design and regulations.
FIRE SAFETY MANAGEMENT IN CASE OF EMERGENCY to ensure an adequate level of safety of the business or structure in case of fire.

Proper Safety Management during operation must include:

  • the reduction of the fire occurrence probability and the reduction of effects expressed through direct control or supervision actions to check the workplace, according to planned frequencies, as regards cleanliness and order so as to reduce the chance of triggers, reduce the fire load, maintain escape routes free from materials, etc.;
  • control and maintenance of systems and fire-fighting equipment expressed by planning periodic inspections and maintenance carried out by specialized firms, and recording the results in the register of inspections by the responsible business;
  • preparation for emergency management that is given with the planning of simulation of hypothetical emergencies, periodic fire drills and evacuation drills.

Proper Safety Management during operation must include:

  • activation and the implementation of the emergency and evacuation plan;
  • activation of emergency services;
  • activation of the Emergency Management Centre as appropriate;
  • activation of emergency procedures.

Fire Safety Management System

Following a performance-design according to the Fire Safety Engineering principles, our engineers develop a Fire Safety Management System (FSMS), i.e., a document to be presented to the Control Board when approving the project, aiming at the maintenance of protection measures provided and management of any changes.
Specifically, the Fire Safety Management System assesses and explains the following management aspects of fire safety:

  • personnel organization;
  • Identification and evaluation of risks arising from the business operation;
  • operational control;
  • management of changes;
  • emergency planning;
  • safety of rescue teams;
  • performance testing;
  • maintenance of protection systems;
  • control and review.
Assistance to training and support for emergency drills and evacuation

The IDF staff provides assistance and support to companies and public bodies as regards training of personnel involved in emergencies and information of all employees through training activities designed to achieve a particular level of emergency preparedness according to the company/body's requests.
